Recognized for her acting, dedication to social issues and keen fashion sense, Zendaya launched her own footwear brand, Daya, in 2015 and collaborated with UK-based fashion retailer Boohoo earlier this year. Now, her fashion credentials are about to get a major upgrade with an upcoming collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger.
Hilfiger, who previously collaborated with model Gigi Hadid, said in a press release, “I love to collaborate with people who are passionate about making their dreams a reality and who inspire the next generation to do the same. Zendaya has become a global icon, using fashion to make bold statements while always staying true to herself. Our capsule collection will fuse her eclectic style with the Americana spirit of our brand.”
We don’t have any details yet on the theme or aesthetic of the collection besides the announcement post on Instagram that features disco-era motifs. Tommy x Zendaya will debut in Spring 2019 and, according to WWD, Zendaya will go on a fashion tour with Tommy Hilfiger to promote the collection and will be featured in the brand’s Spring ad campaign.
“Fashion is more than just wearing cool clothes,” Zendaya said in the release. “It’s a way to celebrate self-expression and individuality, which is extremely empowering. This is why I am proud to partner with Tommy Hilfiger.”
