That time of year has finally arrived. From March 21st to 24th, vendors and designers are heading to NYC for the Architectural Digest Design Show (ADDS). The inspiring event takes place at Piers 92 & 94 – 55th Street at 12th Avenue. And one of the most incredible things to see is the AD Apartment. Every year, this is a must-see installation at the annual ADDS, and this year is no exception!
The 2019 AD Apartment was designed by interior designer, Sasha Bikoff, who reimagined the space in her signature whimsical world. She wanted to create a space that embodied the spirit of an ‘uptown girl living in a downtown world’.
“It represents the dichotomy between a woman who loves antiques and appreciates the finer things yet is still edgy and modern.”
Sasha Bikoff is known for her colorful style and unlikely design pairings. Thus, you are sure to find these threads tying this apartment together.
The AD Apartment will include a host of cutting-edge appliances and accessories, as well as visionary décor and furniture. In the kitchen, you can find the latest handcrafted, handle-less appliances from Gaggenau. State-of-the-art surfaces from Dekton by Cosentino and Art-Deco inspired cabinetry by Danish design company Reform. Throughout the apartment, you can find contemporary and eco-friendly furnishings, nature-inspired wallcoverings, tabletop accessories and everything that is necessary for the perfect home.
AD Apartment Special Programming
With exciting program events, the exhibition at the AD Apartment starts with freshly baked bread paired with specialty butters prepared by Gaggenau Master Baker Ingo Rasche. Over the course of the show, there will be more taste experiences with this author and pioneer of the slow baking concept.
Saturday, you will have the privilege to taste the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Brownie with a Moca Swirl. This has lots of nutritional benefits and is exceptionally tasty.
Each day, there will also be toasts, honoring Sasha Bikoff, hosted by AD Editors.

About the AD Show
Unlike many other trade shows which focus on specific categories, ADDS is wide-reaching: You can find more than 160 artists and designers – from local and emerging artisans to international studios who will show original art, fine furniture, sculpture, textiles, and lighting – in the MADE section. In the FURNISHING area you can find the finest home-furniture brands, designers and dealers from the world. Besides that, you can always REFRESH to pick out a dishwasher and discover the largest collections of kitchens, bath, luxury appliances and premium building from more than 100 companies.
In addition, at Pier 92 you can find DIFFA’s Dining by Design. At this beautiful fundraising, event creativity is showcased through swathed tablescapes to benefit HIV/AIDS programs.
Don’t forget to visit Love Happens at our publisher KOKET’s booth, # 501. And fall in love with all of the beautiful details in their luxury furniture collection!
