Met Gala Themes Over the Years - Every Theme From 1971-Today!

The 2017 Met Gala is taking place on Monday (May 1), and this year’s theme is Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons.

This will be the first exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to focus on a living designer since 1983 when Yves Saint Laurent was the muse.

You may not know, but every year, the Met Gala has a chosen theme. The first year where a theme is on record is back in 1971.

We have the full list of every theme from the start until 2017!
