Madonna is back on top yet again!
The “Medellin” pop icon landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with her latest studio album Madame X as of Sunday (June 23), according to the chart company.
The album moved 95,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Of that, 90,000 were in album sales.
Madame X is Madonna‘s ninth No. 1 record. Her last No. 1 album was 2012′s MDNA, and her very first was 1985′s Like A Virgin.
Madonna has the second most No. 1 albums among all female artists, behind Barbra Streisand, who has 11.
She’s had at least four Top 10 albums in each of the last four decades. Her very first Top 10 album was her self-titled debut, Madonna, which climbed into the Top 10 in 1984.
Madame X also enjoyed the fourth-largest opening sales week for a woman in 2019, and was largely bolstered by a ticket sale redemption offer with her upcoming theater tour and merchandise bundles via her official site.
